Mission Statement  

The mission of the Friendswood Public Library is to provide all persons in the community confidential access to materials that can improve their minds, and also to provide an environment in which individuals may freely pursue intellectual, educational, and recreational interests through diverse services and resources in a variety of formats.

Computer Workstations, including printers, shut down 30 minutes before library closing time.

Teacher Information

The Friendswood Library is always happy to receive advance notice of research projects and major homework assignments.  You can help us by filling in the following forms whenever you assign a research project.

Interactive services

The Friendswood Library offers a variety of on-line services to its patrons.  By submitting any of the forms below, a person can have a reference question answered, request a book, etc.

Children's Schedule

During the year, the Friendswood library has an extensive schedule of children's programs including craft classes, movies, a reading club and much more.  A complete schedule of our  children's programs can be found on the Children's Page.




Toddlertime (for babies from birth to 3 years): at 10:10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Preschool Storytime (for ages 3-6): at 10:45 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays. 

Rattle and Rhyme (for babies 0 to 18 months) meets from 10:10 to 11:10am on Mondays.

Adult Programs 


The Friendswood Public Library hosts a wide variety of adult programs and events. These include genealogy workshops, literary and music events, history programs, health programs, movie nights, and a wide range of instructional programs. Take a look at our current adult programs schedule!
